# FreeC Tier

> FreeC Tier is a free, open-source (MIT) Windows app that joins PCs into one virtual LAN over Steam Networking — no VPN server, no port forwarding. It is a free alternative to Hamachi, Radmin VPN and ZeroTier for playing LAN games with friends over the internet. Current version: v0.3.2-preview (prototype).

Key facts:

- Runs on Windows 10 / 11 (x64). Steam must be running, and every member needs a Steam account. The game itself does not have to be on Steam.
- Each member gets a virtual IPv4 address (10.77.x.x) on a Wintun adapter, so games see an ordinary LAN: use the game's LAN mode or connect by IP.
- Friends are invited with a regular Steam invite. Traffic goes through Steam Networking (NAT traversal, Steam relays as fallback).
- It is not a privacy VPN: it does not hide your IP address or route your regular internet traffic.
- The site is bilingual: Russian at https://ftier.lol/, English at https://ftier.lol/en/.
